Will it fit an existing dishwasher opening?
“24-inch dishwasher” describes a size class. It does not mean that the machine itself is exactly 24 inches wide, or that every opening in that class is ready for this model. Measure the clear space after accounting for trim, flooring and obstructions.
1. Measure the tightest point
Record width at the front and rear, then height from the finished floor to the underside of the countertop. Keep the smallest measurement for each direction.
2. Check the full path
Check cabinet depth, the delivery route and the space in front for the door and racks. A cabinet-sized box fitting the opening does not establish that the installed dishwasher can operate.
Bosch’s detailed drawing shows an opening-width range of 23 5/8–24 1/4 inches alongside the 24-inch reference in its summary table. A tight opening should be evaluated using that drawing and the installation instructions for the actual appliance; the summary is not a substitute for them.
Connections and replacement checks
The specification sheet shows a supplied three-prong cord and a pre-connected drain hose. It lists the SMZPCJB1UC junction box as an optional hardwire accessory. Confirm the connection method and accessory against the full model identification before purchase.
For a replacement, also inspect whether a raised floor or countertop lip could trap the old machine or prevent future removal. Do not assume that the old dishwasher’s installation arrangements transfer unchanged.
